• Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in the state of California, was overturned by a federal judge appointed by President Ronald Reagan
• Same-sex marriage was made legal nationwide by the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision of Obergefell v. Hodges. The deciding vote in favor was made by Ronald Reagan nominated Justice Kennedy
• Log Cabin Republican of California has a Political Action Committee set up to be able to support pro-equality Republican candidates and legislation at the statewide level in California
• The United States Ambassador to Germany under President Trump, Ric Grenell, is openly gay, and a member of Log Cabin Republicans of Los Angeles.
